BanSUVs.com exists for one reason: to bring awareness to the masses about a growing problem involving over-sized trendy Sports Utility Vehicles. It is not our goal to try and eliminate all SUVs, especially those that serve a real purpose in society. The focus of our mission is to question the part of society who feels it necessary to pollute the environment more, deplete resources faster and spend more on their vehicles doing so.

SUVs are currently being used by emergency professionals, law enforcement and the military for good, worthwhile causes. The problem stems from the average soccer mom driving a gas guzzling, high polluting, 6000-pound behemoth. The SUV has quickly become one of the most recognizable status symbols of our time. They are behind an increasing number of traffic fatalities, and though the law may not be enforced as well as it should, they are restricted from some public roadways. It's sad to note that many of these symbols never part from their clean suburban lifestyle.

Our desire to spread awareness is also centered around irony and hypocrisy. Anyone who has visited California and Nevada has probably seen stickers on the back of cars promoting a worthwhile cause. Keeping Tahoe Blue is important and environmentally conscious; something we should all strive to be. Unfortunately, as you may have also noticed, if you've seen the stickers, is that they're often found on large SUVs. It's this sort of thing that drives us to help spread the word about this cause.

When our environment finally collapses and natural resources completely drained, who do we have to blame? We all pollute to some degree, and in today's society it's nearly unavoidable, but it all comes down to those who go out of their way to bring this destruction to all.
