Hate Mail to Ban SUVs .com

To no surprise to us, the vast majority of the email we receive is hate mail from selfish SUV owners and people who seemingly want to destroy the earth as quickly as possible and put other people in danger because they feel they have certain "rights" that, apparently, nobody else deserves. We're putting the best of the best here & that's not a good thing - they were warned.

Our Response: This is a common thread w/ arrogant, self-centered, sociopathic SUV drivers... They dislike criticism, true concern over other peoples' safety, and the welfare of the planet. So, they somehow rationalize their insanity by calling people names or assuming that anyone w/ an opposing point of view is unhappy. Who in their right mind would want to add more people killing, and Earth destroying machines to the road just to show that they sit on one side of a political fence? Repeat after me, "If you're not with us, you're against us. If you're not with us, you're against us." Can you be a little more paranoid, C. Pirkey? (If that is your real name)

Our Response: Well, I guess I should thank you for censoring yourself... First of all, that must be some family, to be proud of helping destroy the ozone layer, depleting natural resources faster, and constantly put other peoples' lives at risk. Secondly, I don't think we've mentioned anywhere on the site anything against American-Made vehicles, so that point is moot. And you live in New England... wow. Did I miss a point there too? Okay, snow... SNOW! Now we're getting somewhere. I guess in New England they don't sell chains for cars or cars with four wheel drive. That's something for the rest of the nation to be thankful for! I feel so fortunate now! And as for the rest of the email, it makes me as proud of our educational system as I am proud of your family. (In case you missed it, I'm not.)

Our Response: There is no freedom of choice when it comes to placing others' lives in danger, be it directly, or an indirect act against the entire planet. SUVs pose an obvious and proven hazard to other drivers and themselves in the cases of rollovers. Sport Utility Vehicles are more harmful to the environment and deplete much needed natural resources faster than most if not all passenger cars produced today.
